Candlelight Vigil and H-Town Car Show
Join us as we come together to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., especially on the historic day he was assassinated—April 4, 1968. This event takes place at MacGregor Park in Houston, Texas from 12 noon to 6:30 pm. Join us with a car show, vendor booths, food trucks, storytelling, and more.
The MLK Plaza, located within the park, is one of the few dedicated spaces in the nation that stands as both a treasured community landmark and a must-see tourist destination. This plaza honors Dr. King’s lasting contributions to peace, justice, equality, human dignity, and education. It serves as a testament to the ideals he fought for.
As we reflect on his enduring impact, the event will culminate with a candle-lighting ceremony, a powerful moment of unity and remembrance for all who attend. Program 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm Black Heritage Society was founded in 2005 by a group of mental health professionals who saw a need for more accessible mental health resources in our community.
