Voting and Why it is important Program
Voting is power. Voting allows us to have a say in our government affairs. Casing your vote tells the political leader how you want them to exercise their collective rights. The equal power of the people is called a republic, which the people hold. It is what makes our democracy. People can vote for Democrats, Republicans, or Independent parties because it is their right. Make your voice heard with your vote!
In 1965, the Civil Rights Act was implemented because African Americans protested, fought, and died for the right of all people to vote. African Americans led the way for the freedom of all people in the USA and worldwide. Many African Americans vote to honor those who died for the freedom we experience today.
Voting is pivotal in advancing social progress. First, it's essential to comprehend the issues at hand. Second, one must register to vote. Finally, participation in the voting process is crucial. Through active engagement in elections, African Americans can endorse candidates and policies that strive to rectify systemic inequalities, enhance education and healthcare, and foster a more equitable society.
Every election offers an opportunity to shape the future direction of the City of Houston and the country. By voting, we can help elect leaders who align with values, priorities, and vision for a better Houston.
