BLACK HERITAGE SOCIETY 2023 GALA

46th Annual Original M.L.K. Jr Day Parade 01/15/2024

The Black Heritage Society was created in 1974 and is responsible for organizing our nation's first "Original Martin Luther King Jr., Parade on January 21st of 1978 and having the honor of being sanctioned by the King family. Dr. King's father, Martin Luther King Sr. (also known as Daddy King), commissioned and served as the inaugural parade's first-ever grand marshal.

As part of our nation's black history and national history, we respectfully honor and salute our organization's late founder, Mr. Ovide Duncantell Jr., and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Furthermore, the organization continues to lead important initiatives year-round to ensure that Dr. King and Mr. Duncantell's visions of prosperity for minority and underserved communities thrive.
